FREE BRITT KIDS CONCERT: Red Yarn
BrittKids Koncerts create a fun and casual setting for local families to introduce their children to music, dance, and the visual arts. These free performances, especially designed for children under age 10, help our next generation of artists learn about the performing arts in a way that is both entertaining and educational. Early exposure to live performance increases a child’s interest in artistic activities, such as learning an instrument, singing, dancing, painting, or participating in a theater program.
Red Yarn (Andy Furgeson) is a Texas-born, Oregon-based family performer who weaves folk-rock music and playful puppetry into high-energy, engaging shows for all ages, reinvigorating American roots music traditions for younger generations. In this special duo performance, Red Yarn and bassist Oscar Murden will perform a mix of revved-up folksongs and roots rock originals, including favorites from their most recent album. In between songs, Red Yarn’s critter puppets will provide comic relief and social-emotional skill-building. Families will be singing, dancing and experiencing the joy of community at this interactive music and puppet show.
