10 Must Do Activities with Kids this Fall
Fall is my favorite time of year! Crisp fall air, gorgeous trees leaves, and lots of pumpkin flavored baked goods! Everything is cozy and snuggly and wonderful. It’s the perfect time to explore all the family fun that happens in Southern Oregon in the Fall!
Here’s my 2026 bucket list of what we want to prioritize this year. It’s always hard to narrow down which kid friendly Fall activities make it to the top. I’ve included a bit of everything. 2026 Made in Southern Oregon Festival in Central Point, OR
Be sure to shop Made in Southern Oregon. This huge festival celebrates all the amazing crafters and artisans who call Southern Oregon home! They even have a section for kid entrepreneurs!
Art Along the Rogue chalk festival in downtown Grants Pass, Oregon
2. Art Along the Rogue Festival is one of our favorite festivals of the entire year. Its a 3 day chalk art festival where street muralists create beautiful art while you watch, and there’s local vendors, yummy food, and live entertainment. Kids can even create chalk art for free!
Fall Foliage at the Japanese Garden in Ashland, OR
3. The leaves usually change color mid to late October. You’ll want to take a drive over to Ashland to walk around the Ashland Japanese Garden. The leaf peeping is excellent, and last year I felt like I could see all the fall colors from every vantage point. Its adjacent to Lithia Park which offers more opportunities to enjoy the Fall foliage and even has a playground and duck pond for the little to enjoy.
Medford Train Park in Medford, Oregon
4.Halloween Train RIde at the Medford Railroad Park. This is one of my favorite traditions. The volunteers always have special decorations set up for the last train day of the year. Kids are encouraged to come out in their costumes. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

5.Corn Maze at Pheasant Fields Farm Their corn maze seems to get tougher each year! And if you visit during their nighttime events you’ll be sure to have some scary things pop up. Their pumpkin patch is surrounded by flowers on one side and mountains on the other so it makes for some gorgeous scenery. They have tons of activities going on so plan plenty of time to enjoy the farm.

6.Pumpkin Patch at Fort Vannoy Farms They have an enormous pumpkin field to walk through as well as a pumpkins brought out of the field for an easier time selecting one. They have a corn maze and cow train, and lots of other activities for kids. Plan to spend some time and let the kids make a day of it. Come back in the evening for their really scary activities!
Pucks Donuts of Phoenix
7. Going to Pucks Donuts in Phoenix to get pumpkin donuts is an annual tradition for our family. Be sure to get a family photo with their giant pink donut box in front of their building.
Fall Color in the Rogue Valley from Prescott Park in Medford, OR
8. If you’re looking for an easy hike do with young kids in a stroller, Prescott Park is a great choice. It’s about one mile of paved path, and it overlooks the valley and all its gorgeous Fall colors.
Downtown Hoedown in Eagle Point, OR
9. The Downtown Hoedown in Eagle Point is such a lovely Fall Festival with a small town feel. They have trunk or treats, games, live music, and food trucks. This is a great one to take the family to. It’s busy and there’s lots to do, but it’s not completely overwhelming like some of the larger ones can be.
