10 Must Do Activities with Kids this Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year! The weather gets cooler, the trees show off their fall colors, and everywhere has apple cider and pumpkin flavored treats! Everything is cozy and snuggly and wonderful. It’s the perfect time to explore all the family fun that happens in Southern Oregon in the Fall!

Here’s my 2025 bucket list of what we want to prioritize this year. It’s always hard to narrow down which kid friendly Fall activities make it to the top. I’ve included a bit of everything.   1. The pumpkin slingshot at Bigham Farms is a family favorite! You can purchase an entire bucket to show off your slingshot skills at their pumpkin patch. Kids of all ages love this one (especially the grown up kind). They took a break from it last year and had to bring it back for 2025 due to popular demand. Bigham Farms has lots of other kid activities, a corn maze, and a great farm stand to check out while you’re there.

2. Take a a ride on the Grain Train at Pheasant Fields Farm. New in 2024, this attraction drives you through one of their corn fields with fun characters lurking around each turn. It’s a great ride for families. You sit together in groups of four, and it was less bumpy than the smaller cow trains and bee trains can be. Their pumpkin patch is surrounded by flowers on one side and mountains on the other so it makes for some gorgeous scenery. They have tons of activities going on so plan plenty of time to enjoy the farm.

3. Brave the corn maze at Fort Vannoy Farms. Theirs is large and more challenging than some of the others in the area. They offer you a map as you enter, and heed my warning- take the map! They also have a separate haunted corn maze on select nights. I’m far too terrified to explore it, but I hear it’s really scary. They have an enormous pumpkin field to walk through, and too many activities to name. Plan to spend some time and let the kids make a day of it.

4. The leaves usually change color mid to late October. You’ll want to take a drive over to Ashland to walk around the Ashland Japanese Garden. The leaf peeping is excellent, and last year I felt like I could see all the fall colors from every vantage point. Its adjacent to Lithia Park which offers more opportunities to enjoy the Fall foliage and even has a playground and duck pond for the little to enjoy.

5. Going to Pucks Donuts in Phoenix to get pumpkin donuts is an annual tradition for our family. Be sure to get a family photo with their giant pink donut box in front of their building.

6. Speaking of annual traditions, the Art Along the Rogue Festival is one of our favorite festivals of the entire year. Its a 3 day chalk art festival where street muralists create beautiful art while you watch, and there’s local vendors, yummy food, and live entertainment. Kids can even create chalk art for free!

7. Take the littles to Liam’s Downtown Business Boo Bash in Central Point. For 2025 they’ve combined what was formerly Liam’s Trunk or Treat and the CP downtown Treasure Hunt into one giant event. Central Point consistently does an amazing job on both these so I cannot wait to see what joining them will be like. If you’re looking to do one BIG trunk or treat event- this is a great one to choose.

8. If you’re looking for an easy hike to do with young kids in a stroller, Prescott Park is a great choice. It’s about one mile of paved path, and it overlooks the valley and all its gorgeous Fall colors.

10. The Downtown Hoedown in Eagle Point is such a lovely Fall Festival with a small town feel. They have trunk or treats, games, live music, and food trucks. This is a great one to take the family to. It’s busy and there’s lots to do, but it’s not completely overwhelming like some of the larger ones can be.
